BTW if you're curious about the deer wandering about. those are the famous sika deer (Cervus nippon), also known as the spotted deer or the Japanese deer. it is a species of deer native to much of East Asia and introduced to other parts of the world. Previously found from northern Vietnam in the south to the Russian Far East in the north. it is now uncommon except in Japan, where the species is overabundant.

Its name comes from shika (鹿), the Japanese word for "deer". In Japan, the species is known as the nihonjika (ニホンジカ (日本鹿), "Japan deer"). In Chinese, it is known as 梅花鹿; méihuālù; 'plum blossom deer'.

the sika is one of the few deer around the world that keep their 'spots' into maturity. but the nihonjika generally have Winter coats that are so thick and dark that the spots fade into obscurity. some nihonjika around Japan are Chinese imports from centuries ago and still show DNA markers similar to their mainland ancestors. others are natives of Japan that possibly migrated there over Ice Age frozen seas or other means. all the varieties of sika can cross-breed and even hybridize with their genetic 'cousins' who migrated all across Europe.

for many years the nihonjika were raised as domesticated farm animals utilized for their meat, pelts, fur, and other body parts. but today they're merely tourist attractions and nuisance 'semi-wild' animals who beg passers by for treats

The little DC phone charm shown during the ED looks super cute, I wouldn't have expected them to go with pink and pearls for this series' merch but I love it (。●́‿●̀。)
